Abbott Insurance Brokers is pleased to welcome Alex Plank as Hamilton Manager, strengthening our leadership capability and reinforcing our long-term commitment to supporting businesses throughout the Waikato.
Alex brings more than 24 years’ experience across commercial claims, underwriting, business development and leadership. Having built his career across several parts of the insurance industry, he offers clients a practical understanding of risk from multiple perspectives – from policy placement through to claims advocacy.
His appointment reflects Abbott’s continued investment in experienced advisers who take the time to understand each client’s business and provide advice that supports long-term resilience.
A career built on understanding risk
Alex began his insurance career with NZI, spending 16 years in commercial claims and sales before moving into senior leadership roles with Rosser Underwriting and 360 Commercial.
Most recently, he served as North Island Regional Underwriting Manager, leading underwriting teams and supporting businesses throughout New Zealand.
This breadth of experience has given Alex valuable insight into how businesses identify, manage and recover from risk.

Putting relationships first
For Alex, joining Abbott represented more than simply taking on a new position.
