The Abbott Group head office’s move to a brand-new building in central Christchurch offers us the space and location to take the company into the future.
With stunning views of the Avon river and a front-line view of the rebuild, the new Abbott House at 128 Kilmore Street has plenty of room for our growing company’s needs.

The Abbott Group team were particularly keen to be part of the movement back to central Christchurch, seeing an opportunity to move to a prime location that benefited both clients and staff.
At present the new building’s only neighbour is Forte Health, but it is surrounded by numerous building sites and emerging developments such as the Town Hall rebuild.
Abbott Group General Manager Mark Reid is delighted with the new premises.
“It’s a fantastic part of town that is still in the process of being rebuilt. We were looking for somewhere with ease of access for our clients and good parking, and here we will be close to everything.”
Space needed to grow our business
The business’s steady growth and the end of the 10-year lease on the Moorhouse Avenue premises meant that a move was necessary to give the business more space.
The Christchurch office is no longer the company’s only premises, but also provides back-office support to the Abbott Group’s Wellington, Nelson and Dunedin branches.
Abbott Group General Manager explained that in recent years, the Christchurch office has been squeezed at the seams.
“After the earthquakes we took on more staff, tripling our claims team and adding additional staff to better support our brokers and clients. The new building has better facilities for the team and enough space to enable us to keep growing.”
Pop in for a look around
Abbott Group staff are also enthusiastic about the move, enjoying the stunning views and the location right next to the Avon river. And with Kilmore Street intended to become two-way in the future, the offices will be even easier to access from both sides of town.
