With the continued growth in our business, we have been delighted to employ several new staff recently in both Wellington and Christchurch.
Jon Saxton
Jon came to us in April from NZI Insurance, spending his first 3 months here at the Abbott Group as a claims consultant. Over recent weeks Jon has furthered his training by moving into a broker support role with our Fire & General team. Jon and his wife Sarah have a three year old son Loukas, with baby number two due to arrive very early in the New Year. Jon’s interests outside his growing family include most sports, music, and old cars. Jon has very quickly become a very valuable staff member, and has slotted seamlessly into the team here.
Chantelle Charlton
Chantelle has just commenced as a broker and is also managing the Wellington office. Chantelle has over ten years experience in the insurance industry and is well versed in all aspects of commercial insurance. She has recently joined the Abbott Group after a period of extended maternity leave with her two lovely daughters Alair (4) and Iva, (2). In her spare time Chantelle’s hobbies include dining out with friends, family outings, and gardening.
Vikki Langley
Vikki has just started in our claims team, having previously worked for AMI/IAG claims teams for many years. Vikki is very keen to further her career in insurance and sees Abbott’s as an ideal opportunity to do so. Vikki is really looking forward to meeting as many clients as she can in the near future, and looking after their claims needs. Vikki and her husband own and operate a swimming pool construction business, and have two teenage children who occupy most of their spare time.
Sarah Cochrane
Sarah started working with us in May, initially on a short term contract on front desk/reception/phones etc. while another staff member was away on extended annual leave. It quickly became apparent that Sarah was keen for a permanent position, and was ready to take on additional duties. Sarah has recently moved into a full time role, running the Domestic book for the Abbott Group. Sarah’s main interests outside work include baking (she makes amazing Afghans!), gardening, and looking after her family. Sarah has spent time working overseas several years ago for merchant banks, insurers, and currency dealers, and is a valuable new acquisition to the team here.
Jan Brown
Jan has come on board as a temporary staff member, looking after the front desk/reception/phone duties for the next couple of months. Jan has had previous experience working in banking and finance, and more recently managed one of our nearby cafes – hence Jan’s friendly face was already very familiar to many of our staff. Jan’s spare time is taken up with her family and helping to look after her grandkids in the weekends.
